Since 15th January 1939 was introduced the Employment record book of a uniform type for all workers and employees of the state and cooperative enterprises into the USSR, approved by the resolution of Council of People's Commissars of the USSR of 20th December 1938.
An employment record book is an official personal document recording the employment status of its owner over time.
The document of grey color book. The size of document is ≈ 10.5 cm x 14.5 cm, without watermarks. On the front page is the Coat of arms of the USSR (The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). All inscriptions on a cover and in the form of the book for RSFSR are made in one language: Russian, for the autonomous republics of RSFSR and for the federal republics of the USSR in two languages: Russian and national. The employment record book contains information about worker's name, date of birth, education, occupation. In the book is information about the nature of the performed work; about transfer to other full-time employment; about dismissal; about rewarding for progress in work.
