Birth certificate of the Akmola branch of the Karlag NKVD (The People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs) special settlement №26

Akmola camp of the wives of traitors of the Motherland, 17th women's camp special department of the Karaganda Forced labor camp in Akmola region, Kazakh SSR. The largest Soviet women's camp, one of the three "islands" of the Gulag Archipelago. The name is associated with the composition of prisoners, a significant part of which was repressed in accordance with the operational order of the NKVD of the USSR No. 00486 as (Russian: ЧСИР: члены семьи изменника Родины) - 'Traitors of the Motherland family members'

The two-sided form on thin paper. The size of certificate is ≈ 14 cm x 10,5 cm, without watermarks. All inscriptions on the certificate form are made in Russian. The certificate contains information about child's name, birth date, parents' names, birthplace and a place of registration.

The two-sided form of white color on thin paper. The size of certificate is ≈ 19,8 cm x 22 cm, without watermarks. All inscriptions on the certificate form are made in Russian and Chuvash languages. On the face side of the certificate contains information about child's name, birth date, parents' names, birthplace and a place of registration. On the back side are specified the requirements for presentation of the birth certificate.
